The Call for Troops, which was commanded directly by Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., was held virtually and centrally at the Monas Silang Square, Jakarta, led directly by the Chief of Army Staff (Kasad) General TNI Agus Subiyanto, S.E., M.Sc., and was also attended by all Kodam throughout Indonesia.
In his address, Kasad said that the implementation of the TNI AD's main tasks cannot be separated from the dynamics of strategic environmental development. This requires the TNI AD as one of the front guards to have an optimal level of preparedness so that it is ready to carry out its mandate from the state whenever and wherever needed. Therefore, this troop call has a very important meaning to measure the preparedness of TNI AD units in guarding the democratic party.
"On this auspicious occasion, we are committed to uniting our determination through the Declaration of Peaceful Elections in order to realize a dignified democracy. The TNI and Polri continue to appeal to all components of society to take part in creating a conducive and cool situation. I ensure that the TNI upholds its commitment to neutrality in facing the 2024 political year," concluded Kasad.
On this occasion, Pangdam IX/Udayana, in his report to Kasad, said that his party held a troop call and peaceful election declaration at three points, namely in Denpasar (Bali Province), Lombok (NTB), and Kupang (NTT). The total number of personnel involved was 10.912 people, and the number of defense equipment deployed was 2.598 units.
"Furthermore, we also report that after this activity, our ranks, 29 Kodim, will also carry out troop calls and peaceful election declarations simultaneously according to the conditions and situation in their respective areas. So we report that Kodam IX/Udayana is ready to carry out security elections in synergy with the Police and Regional Government, as well as other related agencies," emphasized the Pangdam.
